AirlinesTo get your product from dock to dish, especially if that dock is in Alaska, it is necessary to set up a shipping account. To do so, you must register as a "Known Shipper" (Homeland Security Stuff, thank you 9-11). The annual fee is normally $70. Alaskan Airlines is at the forefront of shipping fresh and frozen product, but United and Delta are in the game, as well. UPS has great rates for cargo over 1000lbs.
Most shipping is out of Anchorage, Juneau and other SE Ports to Seattle or Portland. Once there, it can transfer all over the country. www.Alaskacargo.com Couriers
Once in your city of choice someone will need to pick up your product and deliver. If you have a trusted arm of your company in the city, all the better. Sometimes the restaurant will agree to pick up, but very rare and don't count on it. One of the best gig resources is TaskRabbit.com
